Make sure that you can register the 2cv and pay attention to ADR (Australian Design Rules)

ADR's and government regulation are all very well - particularly if they're consistent.
Our '89 Dolly was imported to Tasmania a year or so after its manufacture, was fully registered there, then about 12 years ago went to Victoria, where again it ran as a fully registered car. We bought it and for full registration had to put it through the local (Adelaide) test facility - AKA Regency Park. There was never a suggestion at the latter about side (door) intrusion bars.
Despite this, another member of the local Citroën Club, with his recently imported '88 Dolly (same colour!) had to install "approved" bars. Where's the logic, I ask!

the logic is that the rules are there to confuse and frustrate car owners while allowing engineers and authorities to extract more money

Hi still on importing.......how has anyone who has imported a cv from the uk paid for it..you can direct deposit but that way there is no guarantee that you will receive it..lots of scammers out there... is there a reliable company etc I can use to do the deal on my behalf..I have done all checks including hp, stolen etc etc.. Any comments from previous importers would be greatly appreciated as I am about to pay in the next few days..
