  1. This is a Citroen A Series event. Anyone turning up to Raid in anything else will not be issued with the official Raid Australia 2012 kit. Only 50% of any fees paid will be refunded under that circumstance.
  2. Generally, refunds sought before March 31st will be 90% of payment received. Refunds sought between April 1st and the start on May 1st will be 50% of payment received. Some consideration for real misadventure will be made by negotiation.

  3. Genuine residents of Tasmania may participate in the Tasmanian section in any Citroen of similar age to a 2CV. ie a pre 1990 Citroen.

  4. The mainland section will be for Citroen A series cars only, even for Taswegians.

  5. As we are touring in registered cars, driven by licensed drivers, on public roads ... it is impossible to stop anyone doing something similar at a similar time. However it would be great if we were all together doing the Raid thing.

  6. If you have a favourite (1 or 2 digit) Raid number, please advise so on the entry form. We can’t guarantee that you will get this number, but we will try. If it is not important to you, please leave the space empty, and we will allocate a number.

  7. Please enter before Friday March 16th 2012. Entries received after this might not get personalised clothing.

  8. Being part of the Raid Australia 2012 will provide a generous sticker pack, with stickers for the car and for souvenirs to take home.

  9. It will also cover camping fees for the vehicle and the occupants.

  10. It will also provide a set of route notes for each raider.

  11. It will also provide information on how to access to some free meals. (The Raid organiser is not in the business of selling food), but some free food has been organised at appropriate places, The Raid route notes will advise of these places.

  12. It will also provide a Raid Australia 2012 Weather Jacket and a Tee shirt, for each raider.

  13. We have decided to provide a weather jacket instead of a fleecy because (most of us) have good fleecies from previous Raids, and the jacket can be used with or without a fleecy underneath depending on the temperature. (also…… it might rain)

  14. Some people have indicated that they don’t have time or inclination to join us for the Tassie section…. that’s OK, the 2 sections are offered separately.

  15. The Raid fee does not include the cost of the “Spirit of Tasmania Ferry” crossing to or from Tasmania.

  16. For information about the ferry, and how to book it, you should read the Spirit of Tasmania ferry information (here).

  17. Most camps will allow fires for cooking and bush TV. A couple of camps will not allow any fires at all.

  18. Some camps will have limited wood available. The ability to collect and carry firewood will be an advantage. The Raid route notes will advise when to collect wood. Most of the route is forested.

  19. There will not be any checking of vehicles or preparation. There are plenty of sources of advice on preparing your car. Your car is your responsibility. The organiser will not guarantee assistance to vehicles. Normal raiding etiquette says that there will be plenty of help, but each driver must accept responsibility for their car and their operation of it.

  20. Some notes about car preparation are available here.

  21. Most of the Raid route will be close to towns and services. Mobile phone coverage is patchy, but each day will pass through service areas. We are not travelling through very remote or desert country.
