This is the most beautiful Citroen 2cv I've ever seen, and it drives like a dream. It's a 1983 Paris-built Special, which started out as a pale green car, but has been rebuilt and resprayed in the style of a Mk1 Dolly, in Green and Cream, (both of which are Citroen colours). To complete the package, the last owner fitted striped seat covers and a white Ami steering wheel, which make it look absolutely exceptional. I can supply detailed pictures of the restoration if anyone is interested. The hood is new, the exhaust system too, and so is the starter motor and petrol pump. It also has new front wheel bearings, new stainless steel bumpers, back and front, and Robri trims on the rear wheel arches. Best of all, it has only done 47,000 miles (and has service history to prove it) because it was off the road from 1993 to 2009, so the engine is really quiet and powerful for its 602cc. These cars are pretty eye-catching anyway, but this one is a standout. It's also incredibly economical, fun to drive, and easy to park. The hood rolls back in seconds to make it a convertible and no one ever steals these cars because they can't work out the gears! It will have cost me around $18,000 to get it here from the UK and put it on the road, so I'm not going to let it go cheap, but you won't find one as nice anywhere else. The one that went at Shannons in May for $18,500 was no better, and I should know, because I sold it! The car has a NSW blue slip and 12 months rego and CTP greenslip (third party insurance). Interstate buyers can get this (worth about $1000) refunded. You can come and see the car in Randwick, Sydney, where it has been garaged for the last 9 months and already has plenty of admirers. It's worth a visit, because it really is a lovely car.
